The Manager's Pocket Guide to Project Management is a good tool to leverage any project manager regardless of expertise, experience, or industry. For the experienced manager, the interpretation of all the juggled targets is like a star pitcher keeping track of the runners on base in the context of the inning, and the game. The tools are clearly there, but the good habits found in the pocket guide can help him/er stay out of trouble. For the novice, this guide acts as a target tracking system like the range-finder in a periscope, the view may be great, but knowing what that view represents is the key to keeping one's head.
Either stand-alone, or as a follow-up to the Project Manager's Partner (and its associated course), any project manager should keep this book in their briefcase for routine reference.
Great product, Great Transaction!
The book is very good and I recommend it. The thing I am very disappointed about is the amount of time for delivery. I requested standard shipping, however, I received the books (9) anywhere between 10- 20 days. That just doesn't work when you need all the books within 10 days. The impression given, for receiving the books, is that you will receive them within a certain number of days (as noted by the shipping choice you make). Don't believe it. It is useless to choose overnight or 2 day air because you won't get them when expected. You put a lot of money into shipping costs but it's not worth it.
