This is an excellent Bible for young children. We have been using it for about 5-6 years now for our kids who are now 8 and 9, and just bought 2 more to give to relatives for their kids. The stories are very well written with young kids in mind, and even before they could read we would read for them and they loved to follow along and look at the illustrations, which are beautifully done and designed to appeal to young minds. Each Bible story is simplified so it can be read in just a few minutes, even by young readers, but still covers the important points of the story. There are about 50 stories from the Old Testament and another 50 or so from the New Testament. We have worked through it and begun again at the Creation story many times, and the kids still love it even at 8 and 9 years old.We do realize it is time for them to move on to a Bible more suited to their ages (perhaps past time, but we have enjoyed this one so much it's hard to let it go!) We are actively looking for one more suited to their ages and would welcome recommendations from others!

I NEVER leave reviews! But this book was the best thing I've ever bought for my son! It's life changing. He's at age 7 and QUESTIONS everything in the world, not in a naggy way of why, why, why but more so, "that kid does it that way too, why can't I?" He struggles day to day with his emotions and could never make sense of anything.
He knew we are to behave a certain way and never understood why.
He knows why we have to experience the "knowledge of good and evil", we are the product of sinners, and what we need to do to get back into the gates of heaven.
He'll know what to do!! I believe!!

Jacob buying Esau's birthright for a bowl of lentil stew and almost sacrificing Isaac are not in this Bible. They also say that Abraham had 3 visitors who told him he'd have a child but don't say that the visitors were God and 2 angels. My 4 year old and 3 year old love this version because it's easy to understand and the stories are short enough to keep their attention but I'm bothered that several important details and stories have been omitted. We're only partially through Genesis right now and there is quite a bit missing. This is a great introduction to the Bible though and we'll keep reading.
Excellent Ministering Starter Bible. I used this bible to introduce the Word of God to a homeless man in St. Petersburg Florida and he actually enjoyed the simplicity of a general review of the scriptures with lots of pictures. I also used this Children Bible to teach a young single mother with 2 kids, and I found that we where able to cover 75% of the Bible stories in just a few hours. I was able to quickly answer any question that she had as we covered this Bible form Geneses to the book of John. It was amazing watching her smile as we read the stories together. She then wanted to also read the NIV witch I provided for her and her daughters. I found it amazing as to how a homeless man of about 35 years of age and a 45 year old single mom of two actually enjoyed this book so much that they wanted to learn more about the scriptures. . I enjoyed reading this book to myself, as well as, the people God has allowed me to share the Word of God with.

My 7-year-old daughter came home from Vacation Bible School asking specifically for The Beginner's Bible to read on her Fire. I was pleased to pay $9.99 for something she was so excited about (especially the Bible!) and I even paid another $10.49 for the Audible version so she could read, listen, or read and listen simultaneously. We are both so thrilled with this purchase. Not sure what version this is - definitely not King James, New King James, or New International Version - but it is simple enough for a 7-year-old to understand, and there are lots and LOTS of stories here! The illustrations are appropriate for my daughter's age group - bright and cartoonish, but that's relevant to her interests. She has a strong faith, but is still a beginner, so this was an excellent "first" Bible for her. I look forward to the two of us enjoying this e-book (and the audiobook) for the next couple of years, at the very least. A sound investment!
Wonderful wonderful bible. My children love the way the people are drawn. Very pleasing/ interesting artwork. Then there are other beginners bible products out there you can get down the road and the kids will like that it has the same character pictures. There is a lift the flap Noah's ark book, a jumbo activity book, devotional book etc. Side note if you have a tablet you supervise your child with i recommend the Bible for kids app. My kids love it and there are lots of interactive things you can do. For example, you can make the monkey shoot a banana to the other monkey. You can touch the people and they make sounds and move a little. You can make the sun and moon rotate. You can make the animals shake their heads when the snake is tempting eve. Aside from the fun stuff, the stories are really good and stick to the bible. Back to the Beginners Bible, it is great, the stories are correct and appropriate for younger kids. Hope this review helps someone go with this bible, it is wonderful. I have bought one for my niece and nephew too!
I was raised a Christian, have always been in church, and read the Bible as much as a working mother of two can (God has grace!), but I have learned so much from these precious books. My wild boys, 2.5 and 4.5, love to look at and have these stories read to them. My husband will even sit over in his chair to hear them. They are very simply written, with lots of pictures. The pages have approximately 3 sentences per page, so it keeps the toddlers' attention. I purchased two children's Bibles, and for this age, around five, this is the best by far!! My older one goes around telling people that he wants to be a missionary and baptize people. He talks about Jonah and the whale, about Christ dying on the cross (it's presented beautifully), and Daniel. You will be amazed at how much your children learn from this sweet Bible.
